Who Am I?

Who am I?
What is my identity:
A compilation of my nation plus the data assigned to me?
The ways I was raised, nature vs nurture question
Diagram displaying representation of my self-reflection

Name: Nadia
5 letters meaning "hope" in Russian
(Arabic translates to "moist", so I stick with the first translation)

My nation is tricky, I've been around the world
Born in America, grew up a China girl
我会说中文
我叫小丽
是美国人,but see, I'm Chinese
Third-culture kid, wouldn't trade it for a thing
But it's hard because I roam, don't know where's home
Blessing and curse, though I know I'm not alone
On the surface, I never stay in one spot
Like humming bird in flight, I dabble a lot
Deep down, I love to learn and explore the world
Traveling, unraveling the stories that unfold

I look like an American college student--stock story, right?
But I'm more than the average loan-filing stereotype.
No loans, I work, while aware of my privilege daily
Involved in my church and community, high spirituality priority
To love another person is to see the face of God
Life motto encompassing moral compass, it's not odd
I love until there's nothing left
(or so I try my best)
I'm a daughter of the Eternal King, my identity
Made for a reason, I have hope and a purpose through Jesus
Stepping into my womanhood is somewhat recent.

Now you know more about me
I'm learning about me too
Everyday my capabilities
And what I was born to do
I'm an artist--expression
Creativity flows out of me
I think in rhyme from time to time
Hence I'm currently spitting poetry

Why am I a leader?
I love my community
Want to make a difference
And empower those around me
I have a heart to serve
Conversation hospitality
From playing games to singing High School Musical repetitively

Fire and rain may destroy the weather,
But I'm certain of one thing:
We're all in this together.
